how can i load a map Stdr_simulator-Ros/Tutorials/

hi,i want to load a map on map_server(want to lunch a server whithout a map) but when i follow the steps as mentioned in this tutorial http://wiki.ros.org/stdr_simulator/Tu... i gat the following :

core service [/rosout] found process[robot_manager-1]: started with pid [21726] process[stdr_server-2]: started with pid [21727] process[world2map-3]: started with pid [21764] and the server window does not appear. And can i creat map wherre i a can put the obstacles where i want ??? i am using ros Hydro. thank you
