MATLAB and Simulink receive the signal real time from ROS

Hello ROS users,

Now I can use MATLAB and Simulink to connect to the ROS to receive the lidar's signal(ubuntu 14.04LTS, MATLAB R2015b trial version with ROS toolbox,Jade ROS). But I want to get the signal in the MATLAB or Simulink in the real time. But I can't search any information. Does anyone knows how to do it? Could you please give me some directions? Thank you.

If you're already receiving messages from a lidar, that sounds like a real time system to me. What is your current setup, and why isn't it sufficient?

Hello ahendrix, I use ROS because I want to use it to get the lidar's signal in the real time. But my research is about vehicle control and my main control analysis tool is MATLAB and Simulink. I want to use the lidar to detect the environment and do the further research such as auto parking etc..

Your post says that you're already able to receive lidar data from ROS in Matlab and Simulink. How is that not sufficient?
