Node for APM commands

Hi! I have a node called base_controller that edit speed controls on the topic /cmd_vel. If I wanted to create a node for APM in which I say to APM to take those values of speed, how can I do? Does anyone have a cpp file similar to suggest? Could I make the same reasoning to command coordinate to APM that it takes from another topic? Thank you!
