Hello there,

i just wonder if any of you had success with installing ROS at macOS High Sierra.

I have tried several guide lines liek this: https://github.com/mikepurvis/ros-ins... but with no luck. Mostly it failed because of matplotlib and PyQt libraries during the building process.

Now I run it in virtual machine but I need mostly RViz and Gazebo for simulations so it is not the best way (Macbook get very hot and it is so slow).

Thank you for any comments and suggestions,

Michael

Is dual booting an option?

@jayess unfortunately not. I have Macbook Pro 2017 with very poor (any Linux distro) compatability.

Not a Mac user, but from what I've read and heard, this is going to be difficult. The most up-to-date community effort is the repository that Mike maintains. You'll probably have to figure out what is going wrong with PyQt and friends.

A very small chance (and I don't even know if X is supported): perhaps the new native Docker for Mac (with hyperkit) could help here.
