Velodyne ip configuring error in ros kinetic

Hello Everyone,

I have recently started using ROS Kinetic. Now i trying to connect to velodyne (16 channel) sensor following the link http://wiki.ros.org/velodyne/Tutorial... , But i am getting error like

SIOCSIFADDR: Operation not permitted

velodyne: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device

Could anyone suggest me possible solution to fix this issue .

There is a tutorial to get started with the Velodyne VLP16, you can find here. If it isn't enough, you can either set the IP manually through the web server set at the factory to 192.168.1.201 (generally the Velodyne IP is in the 192.168.1.xx subnet) or following the instructions at appendix C of the user manual at page 37. You can download the manual here.
