Simulated Turtlebot2 with RpLidar cannot do SLAM

I was able to use this package to create a turtlebot2 with rplidar. How do I use this sensor on the turtlebot2 to carry out SLAM and navigate through a known map, I don't know what files I have to edit in order to make this possible?
