Hey,

I am using Kinect V2 sensor for tracking the human skeleton. And I would like to send the data(topic/message) to ROS in Ubuntu.

For doing that I would like to install the ROS on Windows to use it as a bridge between Ubuntu and Windows. But Unfortunately, I can not use Chocolatey, which is Windows Package Manager, because of our institute's security policy.

  1. Is there any way to install the ROS on Windows without using Chocolatey?

  2. And Is there any ROS package to make communication between Ubuntu and Windows?

Please let me know :) I will really appreciate it.

Hi, dear friend. I am suffering serverely with the problem too! I wonder if you have found the correct way to install ROS1 without chocolatey? So kind of you if you can tell me! You know what? the choco server is too far from in my country to have a reasonable download speed. apt-get has the same problem for Ubuntu20, but documentations about how to use alternative way to install on Ubuntu is abundant, while windows choco does not!
